Child Protection Project




Child Protection Project by the Rotaract Club of the faculty of Science, University of Colombo. We gave them 500 stickers and they participated actively in this project.

Schol Award for 2 chiidren on 5/12/08




The schol award ceremony took place on Friday afternoon at the Dehiwala YMCA premises. Project co-ord Rtn Ranjan De Mel explained that the funds were donated by RC Kandy club and RC-DT was responsible in selecting these two beneficieries and parents were well informed about the correct use of funds and at the same time the accountability lies with RC-DT.

President Hasitha presented the cash donations of Rs. 10,000/- each to the two parents.

Also present were Vice President of YWCA Mr Peter Jasinghe, and the admin officer of the YWCA.

Presntation by Home Start Sri Lanka - 15th August 2008

Rtn Madu Dissananayke, from Colombo East, Founder and Chairperson of Home Start Lanka, made a presentation on her project. They support families with children under the age of 5 years. The programs are conducted in Maradana, Wanathamulla, Kirulapona, Borella and Narahenpita. 165 families are supported regularly.

Her guests were Rtn Chris Hutchison and Rtn. Jill Sloley from Rotary Club of Tiverton, UK, District 1170. They have been in Sri Lanka for the past six months helping Home Start Lanka.
